Alison Lenihan in the role of 'Aicha' in 'Swansea Boy' a stage play by Sean Mathias

Alison Lenihan is a Welsh actress working across theatre, film, and television. She is best known for her role in Channel 4’s BAFTA-nominated series The Dog House, which she describes as a role that was made for her – rehoming rescue dogs while working in television.

Her theatre credits include a lead role in Yap! Yap! Yap! with London’s award-winning feminist company GAGGLE and notable Shakespearean performances such as Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Lady Capulet (Romeo and Juliet), and Montjoy (Henry V) with Fluellen Theatre Company. Alison has also appeared as Jess in Avant Cymru’s immersive soap opera Rhondda Road and as Margaret in Theatre Science’s Old Soldier. In 2024/2025, she starred in her first pantomime as the Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella for MTAZ Productions.

Alison’s film work includes Conjuring the Dead (Netflix), Tin Dancing Shoes (BBC Wales), The Wedding Car (BBC Wales), The Cleansing (Tornado Films), and Heart of Steel (Copper Films). A graduate with a BA (Hons) in English and Film, she is also a drama workshop facilitator, a vegetarian, and a keen potter.
